At the invitation of Mr. Børge Brende, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, Deputy Secretary General Sergio Mujica attended the Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum held in Dalian, China, from 11 to 13 September 2013.
Over 1,600 top leaders from more than 90 countries gathered in the state-of-the-art Dalian International Conference Center to address critical economic, industry and technological developments that are reshaping business models and growth patterns.
Mr. Mujica participated in several Private and Interactive Sessions, including a Session entitled "Surviving Supply Chain Shocks", designed to address how companies and governments are building resilience and sustainability into complex global supply chains.
During his mission to China, WCO Deputy Secretary General also travelled to Beijing to hold a bilateral meeting with Mr. Sun Yibiao, Vice-Minister of China Customs. The main topics discussed were the latest developments in the WCO and the various initiatives China Customs is implementing to continue its modernization process. Mr. Mujica also thanked China Customs for the strong support it is providing to the WCO and for the implementation of the Organization’s Strategic Plan.
