WCO supports the development of Training Strategy and introducing blended training approach through e-Learning at the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC)

28 二月 2014

Within the framework of the WCO’s Capacity Building programme and in partnership with the Seychelles Revenue Authority, a technical workshop to develop the Seychelles Revenue Commission’s first-ever Customs training strategy was held in Mahe between February 10 and 14, 2014.

The workshop was focused on the development of a comprehensive training strategy, including a review the training policies and a revamping of training curriculums through the integration of e-Learning in the various training programs. The foundations provided by the draft training strategy enabled the installation and deployment of the WCO’s e-Learning platform and a special training-of-trainers program was conducted to introduce the new training tools, such as the blended training approach, which integrated elements of face-to-face and e-learning, to local Customs experts and facilitators.

The new training approach is expected to promote learning and continuous professional development of all officers across the SRC by offering the administration a diverse range highly interactive Customs e-modules, complemented by new written training materials and best practices on Customs modernization topics.

With a highly dedicated training team and the continuous support of the management team, the Seychelles Revenue Commission is set to move forward with the implementation of its new training strategy including e-Learning,.

This workshop was made possible with the financial support of the World Bank through the Customs Capacity Enhancement in Sub Saharan Africa project.
