National Post-Clearance Audit (PCA) Workshop in Papua New Guinea

13 十月 2014

The WCO, responding to a request for capacity building in the field of revenue, conducted a National Workshop on PCA for the Papua New Guinea (PNG) Customs Service in Port Moresby, PNG, from 22 to 26 September 2014, in co-operation with the WCO Regional Office for Capacity Building for the Asia Pacific Region (ROCB A/P).

The workshop was designed to support PNG Customs in the better understanding and effective implementation of PCA in line with the WCO PCA Guidelines. PCA is listed as a priority area in its Customs Service Plan for 2013-2017. The mission was supported by the Customs Co-operation Fund (CCF)/Japan.

Eighteen Customs auditors from across the country gathered to attend the workshop. A number of issues were raised and actively discussed by all the participants with experts from the WCO, the ROCB A/P and Japan Customs.

The workshop also provided national experts who had been trained as part of the WCO multi-year PCA project for Oceania Customs Organisation (OCO) Members with a good platform for giving lectures.
