On 15 April 2015, the French Customs made a seizure of cocaine amounting to a historical haul of more than 2,25 tonnes of the drug. The seizure was made on the board of a yacht named Silandra more than 200 km off the Martinique coast. According to the spokesperson of the French National Directorate for Intelligence and Customs Investigation (Direction Nationale du Renseignement et des Enquêtes Douanières - DNRED), it is the record high seizure made by French Customs in its history.

Despite the stormy weather conditions, all three crew members, falsely sailing under a US flag, were arrested. This seizure is a result of a two years’ investigation conducted by the agents of the DNRED in cooperation with the British and Spanish colleagues from the National Crime Agency and the Center for Intelligence against Terrorism and Organised Crime (CITCO). This investigation took place within the framework of the Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre-Narcotics (MAOC-N) France is a member of.

Michel Sapin, the Minister of Finance and Public Accounts, and Christian Eckert, the Secretary of State for the Budget, issued a joint press release where they congratulated French Customs with the success of this operation, serving as another proof of the high quality of international cooperation in the fight against narcotrafficking and the quality of intelligence work led by Customs. They welcomed the engagement of the aeromaritime Customs units in this difficult and risky operation.
