WCO Enforcement Committee Set to Commence

The 34th session of the WCO Enforcement Committee is set to commence on Monday, 23 March 2015 under the theme, Customs Enforcement: Completing the Cycle. Over 200 delegates from the WCO’s Membership and Observers are scheduled to participate.

Under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sun Xiangyang from China, delegates will confer on a number of vital enforcement-related topics covering the Environment Programme; Security Programme; Drugs and Precursors Programme; Intelligence and Risk Management / CEN Programme; IPR, Health, and Safety Programme; and Revenue Programme.

Breakout sessions will focus on several emerging issues, including the dark side of e-commerce and Customs’ response to violent extremism.

The Enforcement Committee will be kicked off with keynote addresses by WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya and U.S. Immigration and Enforcement (ICE) Director Sarah Saldaña.
