The WCO with the support of the Japanese Customs Cooperation Fund (CCF Japan) conducted a National Workshop on the implementation of the Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC) and the SAFE Framework of Standards from 4 to 8 April 2016 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Responding to the needs expressed by Directorate General of Burkina-Faso Customs, the 5-day workshop particularly focused on the implementation aspect of key provisions of the RKC and the SAFE Framework of Standards, namely the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programme.
More than 40 Customs officers and representatives from the private sector benefited from the detailed and practical information on RKC and AEO programme. Burkina Faso is now at the final stage of accession to the RKC and the workshop provided the required technical support for drafting recommendations and the establishment of a working plan with short and medium-term objectives.
