Some 2380 kilograms of acetic an[hy]drid acid were seized by Iran Customs at the Port of Bandar Abbas on 19 July 2016. This drug precursor had been concealed in a cargo transiting to one of Iran’s neighbouring countries, among used automotive spare parts.
It is mainly thanks to the diligence and experience of the Customs officers at the Bandar Abbas office, Iran’s busiest Customs border point processing half of its trade volume, that this seizure could take place. The substance had been concealed inside some used fuel tanks.
