The WCO-WACAM Project, funded by Sweden, aims to contribute to regional cooperation in West Africa through the development of regional expertise in priority organizational development areas, including Human Resource Management.
In line with this objective, the WCO is pleased to have successfully carried out a support mission benefiting the Togo Revenue Authority from 25 to 29th of July 2016. This support mission came as a response to the TRA's request to establish a competency-based HRM system and as a follow-up to the Phase III mission carried out in Togo in June 2016.
The mission was delivered by two regional experts from Burkina Faso and Gabon that have been trained in HRM under the WACAM project since 2015 and have already piloted the first stages of the HR modernization in their respective administrations. In this mission, the experts shared their experiences and thus assisted their counterparts in Togo with the development and update of competency-based HRM tools, namely the job catalogue, competency framework and some Job Descriptions.
The TRA has now committed to finalizing the remaining tools by the end of October 2016 and the WCO-WACAM Project will provide its support from a distance until then.
