WCO successfully conducted a National Workshop on Post Clearance Audit (PCA) in Sri Lanka

In response to a request with a view to building its capacities in the field of Post-Clearance Audit (PCA), the WCO organized a National Workshop for Sri Lanka Customs from 10 to 14 December 2018 with the financial support of the Customs Cooperation Fund of China (CCF/China).  The workshop was held in Colombo.

In total 42 Sri Lanka Customs officials from PCA units and other related units benefited from participating in the workshop. The participants were introduced to the WCO’s concept on PCA in order to increase the efficiency of controls and promote trade facilitation.

The workshop also provided some group exercises which thoroughly cover auditing practical knowledge and technics of targeting, Customs valuation, pre-audit research, making an audit strategy and conducting of audit, as well as several case studies from the expert’s home country.  The participants enthusiastically discussed throughout the workshop and were able to learn practical techniques and develop the ideas to conduct audits effectively.

The participants are expected to utilize their newly acquired skills in their daily operations as well as to share them to other officials in their branches.
