The theoretical part of the 74th WCO Fellowship Programme, intended for French-speakers, concluded in Brussels on Friday 16 February 2018.
While in Brussels, the 14 young managers participating in this Programme had the opportunity to get further familiarized with WCO and international standards, tools and instruments, and also with management techniques thanks to the Leadership and Management Development Workshop.
During their stay, they met and exchanged views with the management team members, namely Directors and Deputy Directors, as well as the WCO Secretary General, Kunio Mikuriya.
At the end of their training, the participants submitted a research paper focusing on a technical subject of their choice that included practical recommendations to their respective administrations for future considerations.
After a closing ceremony during which certificates were distributed, the participants went for a two-week study trip in one of the Programme’s partner Administrations, the French-speaking Fellowship Programme being funded by the Customs Administrations of Japan and of France, and by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea.
The participating countries in this 74th Fellowship Programme were Lebanon, Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroon, Comoros, Mali, Morocco, Republic of Guinea, Togo, Benin, Brazil, Georgia, Haiti and Vietnam.
