WCO successfully conducted a National Workshop on Post Clearance Audit (PCA) in Vanuatu

In response to a request with a view to building its capacities in the field of Post Clearance Audit (PCA), the WCO organized a National Workshop for Vanuatu Customs from 3 to 7 June 2019 with the financial support of the Customs Cooperation Fund of Japan (CCF/Japan).  The workshop was held in Port Villa.

The officials from PCA units and other related units benefited from participating in the workshop. The participants were introduced to the WCO’s concept on PCA in order to increase the efficiency of PCA implementation and promote trade facilitation.

The workshop also provided some group exercises which thoroughly cover auditing practical knowledge and technics of targeting, Customs valuation, pre-audit research and conducting of on-site audit, as well as a case study from the expert’s home country.  The participants enthusiastically discussed throughout the workshop and were able to learn practical techniques and develop the ideas to conduct audits effectively.

The participants are expected to utilize their newly acquired skills in their daily operations as well as to share them to other officials in their offices.
