The Association of Customs Representatives marks International Customs Day with its Annual General Meeting

26 一月 2021

The Annual General Meeting of the Association of Customs Representatives was held virtually on 26 January 2021. This marks the first step in the reconstitution of this longstanding Association to its full capacity.

In his opening remarks at this virtual event, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, WCO Secretary General and Patron of the Association, congratulated the Association and welcomed the positive spirit demonstrated, which would further enhance the valuable partnership between the WCO and Customs Attachés.

International Customs Day 2021 provided an ideal opportunity to relaunch the Association through the Annual General Meeting of its membership, with endorsement of proposals to modernize and revitalize it.

The interim Chair of the Association, Ms. Yuri Yanai from Japan Customs, highlighted the importance of all Attachés being connected to each other and with the WCO, so as to form a Customs family in Belgium. Such collaboration is what unites Customs administrations and enhances cooperation both within the WCO membership and between the Organization and its Members.
