From 24 May to 4 June 2021, the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) conducted a Remote Workshop on Strategic Planning for the Customs Administration of Peru (SUNAT).
As part of the activities identified under the Mercator Programme, this workshop aimed at strengthening the overall strategic planning of SUNAT, by unfolding its strategic objectives and identifying potential Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
This remote mission let to a fruitful set of discussions amongst the SUNAT and allowed its officers to deepen knowledge on strategic planning and relevant international best practices. By the end of the workshop, the WCO experts delivered a set of recommendations and conclusions from the work done together with the SUNAT, consisting of a Customs-specific strategic map and a draft integrated control panel including a set of potential KPIs.
Regarding next steps, the SUNAT will review and implement the output of the workshop and further assistance on this matter will be scheduled during the second semester of 2021.
