Lesotho Revenue Authority benefits from an advanced workshop on Post Clearance Audit

27 五月 2021

The WCO successfully delivered a five-day advanced virtual Post Clearance Audit (PCA) workshop for the benefit of Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) under the framework of the HMRC-WCO-UNCTAD Programme funded by the Government of the United Kingdom via Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). This programme aims at supporting developing countries to effectively implement the World Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement.

The workshop was conducted using the Advanced PCA Workshop Package developed under the previous phase of the HMRC-WCO-UNCTAD Programme, adapted to suit a blended training approach and the needs of the LRA. It provided an opportunity for participants to enhance their professional and operational competencies through the provision of practical tools and techniques to effectively conduct systems-based audits, focusing on a trader’s systems of internal controls, within the context of Customs-Business partnership.  Despite the limitation of network connection and time constraints, the participants were very motivated. The interactive communication between the facilitators and participants as well as the exercises completed, helped to develop the practical understanding of the concept and techniques of systems-based audit in line with Article 7.5 of the TFA

The WCO looks forward to continue its collaboration with the LRA under the framework of the Mercator Programme.
