The WCO supports Yemen Customs to recover from Crisis

22 六月 2022

With the financial support from the Customs Cooperation Fund (CCF) of Korea, the WCO organised from 22 to 26 May 2022 in Amman, Jordan, a high-level Workshop to explore key strategic issues for Yemen Customs to be able to advance from crisis response to recovery.

This event brought together senior managers from across central and local Customs offices to identify the weaknesses and deficiencies that need to be rapidly overcome and propose a comprehensive reform to strengthen the resilience of Customs. Emphasis was placed on the necessity for Yemen Customs to clearly define its requirements and understand the measures that need to be taken to construct a framework for a successful response and recovery action plan.

The Chairman of the Yemen Customs Authority expressed his gratitude to the WCO for its support in helping Yemen to overcome the structural constraints and enhance trade security and competitiveness to recover from the crisis.
