On 4 March 2022, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had an online meeting to discuss and reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the cooperation between the two organizations in the Asia and Pacific region.
In November last year, the two organizations renewed their memorandum of understanding (MOU), which forms the basis of cooperation to facilitate trade. During the meeting, they agreed on the importance of the roles of Customs as well as the expectations for enhanced cooperation and collaboration.
