27 四月 2023

From 17 to 21 April 2023, Australian Border Force (ABF) hosted a study visit by a delegation from the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA), within the framework of the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP), to strengthen the MCGA’s capacities in the application of Risk Management in Customs and Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) control.

The activity was carried out with the participation of six officials from the MCGA, including a visit to the ABF, the National Border Targeting Center, the Container Examination Facility, and the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The participants learned from the experience of the ABF in the implementation of Risk Management, the use of technology and data analysis in Customs and SPS control.

The participants gained an in-depth understanding of organizational risks and the role of intelligence and systems modelling in risk management. They learned from the best practices of Australia on biosecurity innovation, plan innovation and the biosecurity operations technology approach.

The five-day mission enabled the MCGA team to increase their knowledge of the latest development trends of the ABF in enhancing their risk management. The (GTFP) continues its efforts to support the MCGA in developing working principles for the risk management of SPS goods.

The World Customs Organization (WCO) appreciates the Australian Border Force for its continued commitment and support to the WCO capacity building efforts.
