Côte d’Ivoire Customs promote an organizational culture based on integrity

21 十二月 2023

From 6 to 8 December 2023, the WCO Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme and Côte d’Ivoire Customs worked together to acquire best practices to fight corruption and promote integrity.

On the agenda was the implementation of the WCO Revised Arusha Declaration and its ten key factors, training and development of staff skills to strengthen an integrity-based organizational culture, and collective action. Gender equality and diversity as well as relationship with the private sector were also discussed.

Two officials from Côte d’Ivoire Customs, who benefited from the training the trainers, delivered in August-September 2023, jointly by the A-CIP Programme and Belgium FPS Finance (Customs and Excise) facilitated the module "Put the Revised Arusha Declaration in practice on a daily basis".

This learning initiative allowed to build momentum, share best practices and mobilize people to address the administration’s challenges regarding the fight against corruption. Discussions also focused on sharing experiences related to the WCO’s and West and Central Africa region’s integrity approaches.

The WCO A-CIP Programme currently supports more than 20 countries in five WCO regions. It receives funding from Norway and Canada and focuses on fighting corruption and promoting integrity in Customs administrations.
