From 14 to 16 March 2023, the Directorate General of Customs (DGD) of Côte d'Ivoire hosted experts from the Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion Programme (A-CIP) in a workshop dedicated to strengthening the organisational culture.

This technical assistance and capacity building activity aimed at identifying and appropriating the tools and good practices of the WCO A-CIP Programme in order to further strengthen the integrity culture of Côte d'Ivoire Customs through efficient change management, the development of a motivating work environment and the recognition of each Customs officer as a full A-CIP actor.

Customs officers and WCO A-CIP experts, with the support of the WCO Regional Office for Capacity Building Office (ROCB) for West and Central Africa (WCA) and the contribution of the General Administration of Customs and Excise of Belgium through a distance sequence dedicated to experience sharing, focused on consolidating the roadmap within the framework of the reform and modernisation initiatives deployed by the DGD, as described in particular in Axis 5 of the Strategic Action Plan "Modernisation of Human Resources" and the Quality Policy Statement of 26 February 2019. During the workshop, major themes were addressed as vectors of integrity such as efficient data management, exchange of good practices (organisational benchmarking), competence-based human resources management and the gender equality and diversity approach.

Aimed at managers and executives directly involved in organisational change, the purpose was to support the DGD's efforts to build and develop an efficient integrity culture adapted to the strategic and operational challenges and objectives, in line with the organisational changes underway and to come within the Ivory Coast customs administration.
