The 18th session of the Virtual Customs Orientation Academy (VCOA) came to a successful close on 22 December 2023. The 14-week online course took place on CLiKC!, the WCO’s e-learning platform, and involved 42 participants from all WCO regions.
The VCOA is a WCO programme uniquely aimed at Customs officers with less than four years of experience working within their Customs administration. The online programme introduces officers to the roles and responsibilities of Customs administrations and WCO tools and instruments.
Special thanks are to be given to the ten WCO Accredited Experts from the Customs authorities of Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, India, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Türkiye, Zambia and Zimbabwe who participated as tutors in the course. Additionally, WCO technical staff provided live presentations on the topics of Integrity, Coordinated Border Management and Customs Valuation.
Following the successful completion of the 18th session, the 19th session of the VCOA aimed at French-speaking Customs officers will run from 18 March to 23 June 2024. The application period for this session is now open. Member administrations are invited to nominate candidates to participate. Nominated students should complete the application form available on CLiKC! by 16 February 2024.
