The WCO is pleased to announce the release of three new courses on the CLiKC! e-learning platform. The new courses focus on the topics of Car Search Training, Container Inspections and Radiation and Nuclear Detection. The courses, which have been developed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) for the Customs & Tax EU Learning Portal, are now available to Customs officers from all WCO Member administrations in multiple EU languages.

The Car Search Training course provides Customs officers with insight into how to search a car in a safe and structured way. The Container Inspection course includes an interactive task-based learning module which teaches officers how to assess the risks and examine a container effectively and safely. Finally, the Radiation and Nuclear Detection course is composed of a basic and an advanced module, which allow Customs officers to learn about radioactive and nuclear control at borders.

Following the release of the European Commission’s courses on the WCO’s e-learning platform, DG TAXUD Director for Resources and General Affairs, Priscila Fernández Cañadas commented on the benefits of sharing the courses to a wider audience, stating, "These courses were developed through close cooperation and collaboration with many experts all over Europe. It is an honour for us to now share this knowledge and practices with the customs administrations around the world ".

Customs officers are invited to access and register on the CLiKC! platform to enrol onto the courses and begin learning.
